Red Clocks by Leni Zumas
Red Clocks by Leni Zumas is a fascinating and a terrific read. The lives and times of 5 women intermingle throughout and beautifully described landscapes evoke their different contexts. The common thread is a questing effort to establish meaning in their lives – as women. At times chillingly prescient (the state has taken control of birth and reproductive rights) there is also kindness and sympathy amongst the women. Theirs feels like a hopeful struggle.
